Hyderabad University student commits suicide, no note found yet

Hailing from Shadnagar on the outskirts of Hyderabad, Praveen, 25, had joined the Master of Fine Arts course just a month ago.

A first year student of Fine Arts University of Hyderabad, N Praveen Kumar, committed suicide in his hostel room Saturday early hours. Praveen was found hanging in his room 204 in the L-Block of UoH campus at 4 am by other students. No suicide note was found, said the Gachi Bowli police station inspector N Ramesh.
“His roommate said that Praveen was alone in the room as he had slept in his friend’s room last night. He went back to his 204 room at 4: 30 am but found the door locked from inside. When Praveen did not open the door after several minutes of knocking, he and other inmates broke open the door and found him hanging. He did not leave any suicide note. The reasons for his suicide are also not known yet. He was new here and no one really knew him that well,’’ the inspector said.
Hailing from Shadnagar on the outskirts of Hyderabad, Praveen, 25, had joined the Master of Fine Arts course just a month ago. “He was brought to the health centre but by that time there was no pulse. But on duty Dr K Gangadhar gave CPR and tried to administer oxygen and sent him in ambulance to Citizen Hospital where he was declared brought dead,’’ Chief Health Office Dr Ravindra Kumar said.
